BWD Back!

Thursday, August 30th, 2007 at 4:24 pm

Cross posted at our news blog:

We’re finally back after some God-awful downtime within the past few days due to some ridiculous name server issues with a new domain company. The lesson? Never switch away from companies that may charge a bit more, but are simply the best and most professional around.

Thank you for your patience!

Major DNS Issues

Wednesday, August 29th, 2007 at 1:09 pm

As a side note for those of you that may follow my design company Blog What? Design, we are having major DNS issues with our new registrar. It’s a mess. So basically, it may be 36 hours before I get things worked out.

(P.S. Remind me never to go with a MASSIVE hosting/domain company again. And shout out to hostingmatters.com for the most amazing hosting EVER!)

Comment editing: To Allow, or Disallow?

Saturday, July 21st, 2007 at 9:37 pm

The thought of editing comments after one has posted on any of my blogs has never been an issue. There just hasn’t been a convenient feature on WordPress for it yet. However, that’s all changed. Thanks to my good friend, Robbie, I’ve found this nifty “WP Ajax Edit Comments” plugin.

Now, one must beg the question: Should I or shouldn’t I allow the luxury of editing comments after they’ve been posted to my readers? On one hand, ugly typos, bad grammar, and incorrectly referenced links could be removed. On the other side, readers could back down on a view-point after they’ve seen a particular reaction, or change their previous words altogether. Where would I be without the ridiculous flame wars of “WELL YOU CAN’T EVEN SPELL ‘THOUGH’ RIGHT SO THERE!”

What do you think?

Yo, Yo: WordPress Updates

Friday, May 11th, 2007 at 1:00 am

You should all know that I am a WordPress junkie. I even have a t-shirt. But that’s besides the point. What I do love is manipulating this platform to do ANYTHING. And I sure mean anything. From an online, dynamic archive of scanned-to-text books to websites for an amazing writer of our time… I’d said I’ve got a few WordPress notches on my belt ;)

So, to fill my craving today (besides spending nearly four hours on a client’s project creating loan applications) I decided to install a few plugins I found on a few websites:

One you won’t notice (but may still affect you) is a special “do-follow” plugin. This means that instead of ignoring commenter’s links (in an attempt to prevent spam) this plugin will let web crawlers (like those for Google) follow to your website. Basically - it means you’ll push yourself up in the rankings if you add a comment! Woah! Check that one out here.

Another plugin I threw in for the commenters I am so-ever greatful for is the lovely “Top Commenters of the Month!” (aka the greatest commenters in the world, as you’ll see on the sidebar.) This one is especially fun as it resets every month to give everyone a chance. What’s the incentive? Perhaps I’ll throw in a cash prize or contest later on ;) Of course - no spam please!

So there you have it folks! Comment, and ye shall be rewarded.

Welcome to Crunchy Mustard. We are currently in a stage of infancy. I will have some more photos and content up soon.

ENJOY. And be merry too. I still think we should push back Christmas to extend the season.

And now I present, another complimentary Monty Python episode from the Ministry of Silly Walks:
